Good points about Macbeth being original horror; I enjoyed the highly visual atmosphere but failed to link it to the gory slasher flicks of yore (I'm probably too jaded). It really was a cinematic presentation, and the night I saw it, the rain-delay only made the stakes that much higher. The Delacourt adds so much to that production that it's a wonder any Shakespeare gets done inside at all.
