"Apt, but unsatisfying"

Time Out gives The Devil and Tom Walker a non-rave--precisely the sort of lukewarm, down-the-middle review that is most to be dreaded, because one can't help concede some of its points while at the same feeling, naturally, disappointed. And while I appreciate the level of attention Andy Propst brings to my score, I'm not sure the melody he refers to "never resolves"--I guess you can decide for yourself.
